These terms apply to your use of OpenIPApi and the openipapi.com website.
Acceptable use
You may use OpenIPApi for any lawful purpose, including fraud prevention, geolocation, network operations, security research, and analytics. You may not use the API to harass individuals, circumvent legal restrictions, or conduct illegal activity in any applicable jurisdiction.
API availability
OpenIPApi is provided on a best-effort basis for the Free plan. Paid plans include availability targets as listed on the pricing page. Scheduled maintenance windows are announced in advance where practical.
Nature of the data
OpenIPApi provides IP intelligence signals derived from geolocation datasets, public lists, network probing and threat feeds. The data is probabilistic and should be used as one input to a decision, not as absolute truth. We do not warrant that any specific flag, score or geolocation result is correct.
No abuse
You may not redistribute the API in a way that competes with OpenIPApi, attempt to circumvent rate limits, share API keys publicly, or use the service in violation of applicable law.
Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via email to active accounts. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
